When the sun finally begins to shine and the weather warms up it’s time for the kids outdoor riding toys.

Introduced in the year 2000 they are built with an airplane-grade aluminum frame. The wheels are made of strong polyurethane that seems to last forever. One of his scooters has a spark bar in the back for some added fun. Get up to a nice little speed and with your foot press on the spark bar to make it hit the pavement and sparks will fly. Bobby loves this feature.

Kids Outdoor Riding Toys: Little Tikes
Now we can talk about all of the fun for toddlers with the Little Tikes brand of vehicles. Little Tikes is primarily built for infants and toddlers.

Kids Outdoor Riding Toys: John Deere Gator
The ultimate in kids’ outdoor riding toys is this Jonh Deere Gator. Another toy built to last.
This one was Bobby’s and now Tyler is driving around in it.
The seat adjusts as the kids get bigger. It is two gears forward and it reverses. The tailgate lifts up and the bed tilts to easily dump your load.
The John Deere Gator comes with a 6-volt rechargeable battery.
During spring clean up Tyler loads up the bed of the gator with fallen branches and twigs. He then makes the two-block drive to our house and dumps it in our yard for our fun evening campfires during the season. The gator is a fun way to get the kids interested in cleaning up the yard.

Kids Outdoor Riding Toys: Big Wheels
Oh yes, the classic Big Wheels. Who remembers these? My kids had Big Wheels and now my grandchildren are burning up the driveway with this one.
Just in case you were wondering whatever happened to Big Wheels. Introduced in 1969 Big Wheels was a huge success.
They faded away in the 1990s but made a comeback in 2003. And, there you have it another classic is back for our kids to enjoy.

These toys sure bring back memories! I don’t think I personally had any of these riding toys as a kid. But I do remember them from friends’ homes or play spaces. It’s fun to see them all together in one place!

My baby son’s first riding toy was like the big wheel and he rode it ALL the time. We had tile floors in Florida and he could get that riding toy going fast as could be and turn left into his bedroom without slowing down or missing a beat. Used to crack me up. 🙂 Today he participates in Gymkhanas in a sports car club and has been ‘car crazy’ all his life. 🙂 Some toys kids never outgrow — they just get bigger toys. LOL.
