Start your kids recycling efforts early with this crayon melt mold machine. Turn your old broken crayons into brand new ones with the Crayola Melt and Mold Factory.
It’s as easy as melting down your old crayon bits and pieces then pour them into the molds. Mix and match different colors to create the most unbelievable colors and designs.
Mix dark and light pieces of crayons to create a new swirl crayon. Then, have some fun coloring something with your new creation.
The Crayola Melt and Mold Factory that Bobby has comes with, the crayon melt and mold unit, 24 crayons, a mold frame, a mold to make crayon rings, and a mold to make new crayons.
Crayon Melt Mold Features:
The unit has a melting tray with a plastic lid, a mold frame, the crayon mold, On/Off switch with a dial timer, and a tilt and pour knob. The recommended age of the melt and mold machine is 8 Plus. It also recommends having an adult plug in the toy.
How the Crayola Crayon Melt Mold Factory Works:
Choose your mold, the molds come in two pieces so you have to line them up and snap them together. Place the mold in one half of the frame and then place the other half and snap the frame together. Slide the frame and mold into the base of the unit.
Now, place your bits and pieces of old crayons into the melting tray. Make sure you only use a single layer. Don’t stack the crayon pieces on top of each other. Close the lid and turn the timer knob clockwise until a red light comes on. This indicates that the heat is on.
Here is a great safety feature: The lid locks at this point and will not open until the timer goes off and the unit cools down. This will take about 20 to 25 minutes.
The red light will go off when the heating cycle ends now it’s time to make your new creation. Turn the tilt and pour knob to pour the melted crayons into your mold until the tray is empty. Now, when the lid unlocks you can pull out your frame and take it apart. Let the mold cool to touch and then separate it and carefully and remove your newly made crayons.
Here is Bobby hard at work making some of his favorite designs.
Here are some of Bobby’s creations just recently made with his Crayola Melt and Mold Factory.
Rings, cars, spinning tops, and lightning bolts. He makes these as gifts for his little brother and cousins.
Bobby recommends using Crayola Crayons. Although the off brands will work they just don’t seem to work as well.

I remember melting crayon bits and pieces with my son decades ago. We would have had so much fun with these Crayola Melt Molds. I love that Bobby makes these as gifts for other kids!
I know Ruth, We had an old one that you had to melt the cratons on the stove!! Got burned a few times, this one is much easier and safer.
Kids love to create, so this looks like a clever toy that is also useful, bringing new life back to old broken crayons. Thank Bobby for demonstrating the Crayon Melt Mold for us.
Thanks, Pat, Bobby does spend a lot of time creating new things from old crayons.
